An apartment in a pre-revolutionary building
St. Petersburg. 150 m2
This spacious apartment in a former tenement building in St. Petersburg, built in 1910, features large windows, high ceilings, historic double doors, and preserved stucco. The main goal of the design project was to carefully preserve the authentic atmosphere of the old building while adapting the space to the needs of a modern family.
The interior's unique character is given by the natural traces of time—small irregularities and cracks that preserve the vibrant spirit of St. Petersburg. The apartment's layout was designed with the needs of a family with a child in mind: we preserved the historical structure of the space, widened the opening between the living room and the adjacent room, and completely reimagined the bathroom layout. The result is an interior that is historically accurate, functional, and comfortable for modern living.
